Cycling around Japan in 1989

Six years after my travels through North America, North Africa, and Europe, in 1989, I spent half a year cycling around Japan, from Rebun Island in northern Hokkaido to the small islands of Okinawa in the south. This was because I felt unsatisfied with the 31,000 kilometers I had covered during my year-and-a-half-long overseas cycling trip.

When I left Japan, I vaguely thought, [I wonder if I could ride about 40,000 kilometers, enough for a trip around the world?] Even after returning home, I kept thinking, [If I had ridden just 10,000 more kilometers, it would have been enough for a trip around the world.] → After finishing the “Bicycle Travel Blog”: 31,000 kilometers + Japan Tour = ?!
